Course Objective:
The basic Food Hygiene and Food Safety Training course is designed for all employees new to the food industry. The course follows the Food Safety Authority of Ireland “Induction Food Safety Skills Training level 1 course”. It is also a suitable refresher course for existing staff. The Basic Food Hygiene Training course outlines the basic food safety skills that all employees should be demonstrating within one month of commencing employment. This course also helps companies comply with the requirements of Regulation EC: 852/2004 in relation to the requirements for food safety training.
Course content:
- Introduction to Safe Food Handling - HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points)
- Traceability of Food
- Food Contamination and Food Poisoning
- Food Delivery and Storage
- Food Preparation, Cooking and Service.
- Personal Hygiene
- Hygiene of premises and Pest Control
- Cleaning Procedures
Who Should Attend
This Basic Food Hygiene Training course is intended for food workers who are new to the food industry. This course is also suitable as a refresher course for existing food workers.
Assessment & Certification:
On completion of the course, the students undertake a short written assessment. Students who are successful in the examination will be awarded a Certificate in Basic Food Hygiene Training by the Bright Health Safety and Training.
